Third grade reading scores often tell a lot about a child’s likelihood of spending time incarcerated. If you can’t read, you soon drop out of school and onto the streets where trouble is looking for you.
Friends of Caring Friends collected, sorted, donated over 600 children’s books to Sylvan Rodriguez Elementary School in Houston’s hispanic Gulfton community, the most densely populated area in Harris County.
