Caring Friend donors provided $125 student scholarships for 12 children to
attend school for one year in a rural area outside of Pignon, Haiti. Each
scholarship provided books, tuition, and supplies.
New donors have provided 100 St. Collette students with a beans and rice
lunch (25 cents/meal) five days a week for five months of the year. For many
of the children this is their only meal of the day.
Caring Friends executive director John Collier visited the school twice in
2013, met several of the children that were provided scholarships, and saw
the outside ‘kitchen’ were the rice/beans are prepared.
