Caring Friends looks first to encourage on the ground, hands on efforts to
serve the underserved.
If those serving the underserved resonate with good management and strong
stewardship, we look for ways to collaborate or network that will advance
mission goals in natural indigenous ways.
When our encouragement and collaboration efforts seem productive, we look to
to leverage resources with the hands on partner. Often we first look for non
cash in-kind contributions from friends and donors before we consider cash
gifts and/or matching cash gifts with other partners.
Over 95% of all of our work is in partnership with 501c3 non profits.
Two examples:
Rather than give cash to domestic violence victims or fire victims, we give
appropriate number of CCSC Resale Shop coupons @$25/each which the client
uses to purchase clothing, house wares and furniture.
In 2013-2014 we received donations and/or bought and delivered 6000
children’s books to support elementary and middle school classroom
libraries, multiple after school apartment ministry reading libraries, and
refugee home and family English libraries.
Encourage, collaborate, and then leverage resources. The Caring Friends
approach in serving the underserved.
