Young refugees become junior counselors to even newer refugees!

The work of PAIR (Partnership for the Immersion and Advancement of Refugees) begins with university students at Rice and U of H welcoming, nurturing, leading, and tutoring new refugees settling into Houston.

The junior counsellor program is not only heart warming but inspiring: refugee students who know the fears, the language challenges, and the feeling of being dislocated step up to be trained as mentors or junior counselors to new arrivals.

Thanks to PAIR! Great job providing hospitality and meaningful growth opportunities to new young neighbors from across the world!
