Hats off to WUMC for collecting children’s books and coats for our urban
ministry with and among the underserved. Many children in the Gulfton area
schools come from non English speaking families and have few if any books.
In Houston many families assume mild weather year round and get hit hard
when discretionary money is gone and cold weather hits. Nurses in local
schools report children come to school with only short sleeve shirts and no
coats.
